Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a crash that occurred on Wednesday night in Grand Island. The Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition (NITTEC) initially reported the closure of South Parkway from Broadway to Love Road at 9:08pm due to a crash.
Officials from the Erie County Sheriff's Office confirmed that a body was discovered at the scene. In a Facebook post on Wednesday night, superintendent of the Grand Island Central School District Brian Graham revealed that the victim was an 8th-grade student who was struck by a vehicle on South Parkway near Broadway.
The name of the student has not been released. We will provide additional information when it becomes available.
