Bizarre Theft Allegations Leave Police Baffled

Niagara Falls Police responded to an apartment on the 900 block of Cedar Avenue around 9am on September 23rd after reports of a larceny.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant in the lobby who stated that his “friend” stole property of his. Specifically, he stated the friend stole "personal items" which included clothes and his NYS ID.

Officers did inquire as to any other items that the friend took, to which the complainant kept repeating “everything.” Upon being asked what he meant by everything, the male replied “everything” again.

The complainant originally stated that the incident occurred on Thursday or Friday, but then changed his story to say that it could have happened Saturday. He said it was “over one of those days” and he noticed it “a day or two after.”

He further told police that he “does not know his [friends] number” but gave an address he believes is correct. The friend is a white male in his 50’s. Police were unable to locate the suspect in the IMPACT system. No further information is available at this time.
