Bills fans across Western New York grew uneasy on Tuesday as the NFL revealed referee assignments for the Divisional playoff games. Referee Shawn Hochuli, in his sixth season, is set to officiate the Bills-Chiefs game in Orchard Park this Sunday.
Hochuli is noted for being flag happy, having flagged the Bills for 347 yards in the last four games he officiated. Notably, he was also the head official for a Bills game in Philadelphia, where a missed horse-collar tackle stirred controversy across the league.
As if that wasn't enough reason to dislike him, Kansas City is 8-2 in 10 games officiated by Hochuli, including 2-0 in the playoffs.
