Following some delays in the progression of the company's planned Transit Road location, discussions commenced mid-2023 regarding the opening of a second Tap Room. The team identified the rich historical and cultural relevance of Lockport as the primary motivation for their decision, with the Erie Canal, a core aspect of both Big Ditch's inspiration and Lockport's past, bridging the two entities together.

Additionally, the city's heavy investment in redevelopment also played a role in the decision, reminiscent of downtown Buffalo circa 2013, where Big Ditch saw and capitalized on potential growth opportunities, successfully opening its first Tap Room in 2015.

The upcoming Lockport Tap Room's proximity to two key developments – the Cornerstone Ice Arena and the 1,100 seat Historic Palace Theatre – also creates additional attractions for prospective visitors.

Big Ditch's plans for the Lockport Tap Room will offer patrons an experience akin to its downtown Buffalo location, complete with its high-quality beers and innovative dining menu. The venue will also boast a varied selection of wine, spirits, cocktails, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages, cementing its aim to cater to a broad clientele.

In a new addition, the Lockport Tap Room will house a small-scale brewery. Through this, Big Ditch seeks to bring its unique beer-making process closer to its customers while continuing its tradition of excellence in crafting superior beers.

Big Ditch is thrilled about this upcoming endeavor and is eager to partner with the City of Lockport in promoting and supporting the area's rich cultural history and ongoing development efforts.
