Bicyclist Dies Following Collision with Vehicle in Tonawanda

A 29-year-old man died from injuries sustained after a bicycle and vehicle collided late Friday night in the City of Tonawanda, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred around 10:30pm on the 700 block of Young Street. According to police, a 29-year-old woman driving a Kia struck the man while he was riding his bicycle.

Emergency responders transported the cyclist to Erie County Medical Center in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

The driver remained at the scene following the crash and no charges have been filed at this time. Police say the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
