Niagara Falls USA encompasses some of the best up close and personal views of the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. You can stand feet away from the brink of all three waterfalls – so close that you can feel the mist coming off each one. Like any place though, some vantage points are better than others and this article will take you through the best.
Prospect Point Observation Tower – Extending out over the Niagara Gorge at 282 feet, this provides one of the most picturesque vantage points to view the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls at the same time. The observation tower is located inside the Niagara Falls State Park and costs only a few dollars per person.
Terrapin Point – This must-see location is found at the northwestern corner of Goat Island directly next to the Horseshoe Falls. As you stand there and take in the thunderous roar of water spilling onto the rocky pool below, you will have a front row view of the falls, a mist pool, the Canadian skyline and, of course, a rainbow.
Luna Island – Located on Goat Island, Luna Island is a small island positioned between the American and Bridal Veil Falls. On both sides of the island, you can stand two feet away from the edge and watch water cascade onto the rocks below.
Niagara Falls State Park – The oldest state park in America includes what many believe it to be the best view of the American Falls. The state park is open 365 days a year, so you can see how mesmerizing the American Falls is in all seasons.
Maid of the Mist – The world-famous attraction thrills riders with a voyage along the American and Bridal Veil Falls before venturing into the cascading waters from the Horseshoe Falls.
Cave of the Winds – Short of going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, there are fewer places closer to the action than a series of walkways below the American and Bridal Veil Falls. In fact, you can stand below the Bridal Veil Falls on the famous ‘Hurricane Deck’!
