A devastating fire engulfed a barn in the Town of Cambria on Saturday resulting in a total loss. The incident, which also involved reported explosions, prompted the response of the air base FAST team.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Firefighters swiftly responded to a call reporting smoke at 5829 Comstock Road around 11:18am. According to a news release from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, there were no individuals inside the barn at the time of the fire and the livestock managed to escape unharmed.
Fire officials, communicating through a scanner, mentioned that multiple vehicles were stored within the barn. Explosions were reported leading to a request for assistance from the air base FAST team. By 1:10pm, the fire appeared to be mostly extinguished although extensive overhaul efforts were necessary to ensure complete extinguishment.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Investigators from the relevant authorities are actively working to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
