Niagara Falls Police responded to the 800 block of Portage Avenue, Easy Home, around 10am on February 8th after reports of a shoplifter.
Prior to arrival, officers were advised that the suspect was a white female wearing a brown coat, black pants, carrying a pink flower bag, and fleeing from the store. The female suspect was quickly observed and, in an attempt to evade police, ran and hid behind a building. She was not successful.
Officers detained the female suspect and transported her back to Easy Home. She did have the pink flower bag and located inside it were multiple bags of bacon and beef jerky.
Upon arrival at the store, officers spoke to the store manager who witnessed the female steal the merchandise. She was positively identified and transported to police headquarters for booking and processing.
The total value of stolen merchandise was $75.
