Niagara Falls Police were finishing a crash investigation in the area of Ferry Avenue when officers observed a minibike and go-cart driving eastbound at a slow peed with a line of 5-7 cats behind them.
Officers followed them down for a short distance and observed both ATV's weaving into the driving lane causing cars to repeatedly apply their breaks. The patrol vehicle’s emergency lights were activated and both off-road vehicles stopped.
Both male operators stated that they had no knowledge that riding off-road vehicles on public highways is illegal. Officers requested a tow for both vehicles under a city ordinance.
One of the males was taken into custody after officers discovered active DV paperwork. The male was held for arraignment on the DV case and administered uniform traffic tickets returnable to Niagara Falls City Court.
