Kidnapping at Gunpoint Ends with Arrest in Niagara Falls


This week a significant development occurred in the investigation of a robbery and attempted kidnapping at gunpoint incident that took place in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on June 27th, 2024. Niagara Regional Police officers responded to a report of a robbery and attempting kidnapping.



According to the investigation, the incident occurred between 2:15 and 2:30am outside a bar situated at 5899 Main Street, Niagara Falls ON. It is alleged that a male adult victim and two male suspects were involved in the incident. One of the suspects reportedly brandished a black pistol firearm and threatened the victim, demanding that he enter a vehicle. However, the victim refused to comply.



Both suspects then attempted to push the victim into the vehicle while assaulting him. Despite the assault, the victim managed to escape from the suspects. Unfortunately, the suspects were able to steal the victim's jewelry during the altercation. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.



On July 10th, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant in the area of Culp Street and Drummond Road in the City of Niagara Falls. During the search, detectives seized several items, including 95.8 grams of powder cocaine with an estimated street value of $9,600, as well as $1,060 in Canadian currency.



As a result of the search, Jared Patcheson, a 22-year-old individual, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including robbery (firearm), kidnapping, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine). Patcheson is currently in custody.
