Niagara Falls Police responded to Best Nails on the 8400 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard around 1:30pm on Wednesday, May 1st after reports of a customer dispute where the owner unplugs ATM machine mid-transaction resulting in an arrest.
Upon arrival, police were met by a customer who stated that she was attempting to use the ATM and the owner unplugged it as it was dispensing cash. Officers attempted to speak with the owner but could not due to a language barrier.
The customer played a recording from her bank showing that an amount posted to her account for $140.00, which was how much she requested from the ATM. However, there was a receipt from the ATM that the $140.00 was requested but not approved (despite the fact that it was dispensing money).
There was no resolving the issue at the time of the report and the business no longer wished for the customer to remain at the establishment and she was asked to leave. The customer stated she was not leaving “until this is resolved.”
Police then asked an employee if they wished to press charges for trespassing, which they answered affirmatively. The customer was placed under arrest after refusing direction from officers to leave and was transported to police headquarters.
