$7,500 Reward Offered Following 3-year-old's Shooting Death

The community is in shock and mourning after the tragic shooting death of 3-year-old Ramone Carter on Friday night. Ramone was shot around 9:30 p.m. on Domedion Avenue in the city's Schiller Park neighborhood. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). His 7-year-old sister was also shot and is currently being treated at Oishei Children's Hospital, according to Buffalo Police.

In response to this senseless act of violence, Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ramone's death. The organization is urging the community to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers mobile app or by calling (716)-867-6161.

During a Saturday afternoon news conference, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown expressed his deep sorrow and frustration over the incident. He emphasized that the shooting was not related to the boy's family gathering, stating, "Two children, out with their family. A 3-year-old riding his tricycle, having fun with members of his family on a hot summer night. His 7-year-old big sister, right by his side, and out of nowhere, gunfire erupts."

The mayor also praised the community for their cooperation with the Buffalo Police Department thus far, but stressed the need for more information to ensure that the person or persons responsible for this tragedy are apprehended and brought to justice.

The shooting of Ramone has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the urgent need to address gun violence and ensure the safety of innocent children. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers WNY at (716)-867-6161 or submit a tip through the Crime Stoppers mobile app.
