62-year-old Bicycle Rider Pepper Sprayed by 'Heavyset black male'

Thief Breaks Into Vehicle to Smoke a Cigarette and Steal a Bottle of Pills

Niagara Falls Police responded to Ferry Avenue around 5:30pm on September 19th after initial reports of harassment.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the 62-year-old complainant who stated he was riding his bicycle along Ferry Avenue when a dark blue van cut him off. The driver of the van, described as a "heavyset black male," got out and started yelling at him.

The black male attempted to swing at the complainant but missed. He then proceeded to spray the complainant in the eyes with pepper spray. The male returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.

The complainant was able to collect himself and ride his bicycle home after the burning stopped and he regained enough vision to do so. No further information is available at this time.
