Niagara Falls Police responded to Post Office on Main Street around 12:00pm on July 1st after reports of a 61-year-old woman being assaulted entering the building.
Upon arrival, police spoke to a witness who stated he was driving by an observed a white male throw a punch at an older female victim and then get into an SUV and drive away. Officers then talked with the victim who stated she was attempting to park her vehicle in front of the post office and an unknown white male began to yell at her, accusing that she hit another vehicle.
The victim, startled, parked across the street. However, the unknown male followed her and got into her doorway. He grabbed her by the right shoulder and started to violently pull and push her to the point of disorientation. A verbal argument ensued where the unknown male used vulgar language toward the woman. This continued until people started to watch and it became known he was being recorded. The unknown male then fled.
Officers were shown a video of the incident that had been taken by a witness. The victim complained of head pain and said she would drive herself to the hospital. No further information is available.
