Niagara Falls Police responded to the Comfort Inn at the Point in Downtown Niagara Falls around 12:35am on July 7th after reports of more than $5,000 in property stolen from a tourist family's vehicle while they were watching 4th of July fireworks at the Seneca Niagara Casino.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated he parked his vehicle in the hotel parking lot and his family went to watch the fireworks at the Seneca Niagara Casino. When the family returned to their vehicle around 11pm, they realized their property was stolen.
The stolen property included: a black Cannon camera 70 T valued at $1,500, a silver MacBook Pro valued at $3,000, 3 gold bracelets valued at $200, a rose gold watch valued at $120, 6 pairs of earrings (green, gold and black) valued at $100, a black and silver straightening iron valued at $200, and a bag of misc. makeup valued at $300. The total value of all items stolen is valued at $5,220.
The complainant stated his vehicle was locked but could not detect damage to the exterior. No further information is available.
