38th Annual BurgerFest Set to Delight Attendees in Hamburg

The Village of Hamburg, known as the birthplace of the burger, is gearing up for the highly anticipated 38th annual BurgerFest set to kick off on July 20th! This beloved event not only celebrates the iconic hamburger but also serves as a fundraiser for the local community through the Kiwanis Club of Hamburg's programs.

Over the years, BurgerFest has raised more than $200,000, benefiting various programs such as the Terrific Kids programs in the Hamburg and Frontier School Districts, recreation and youth sports programs, educational safety programs, library initiatives, and more. The event has become a cornerstone of community support and engagement.

This year's BurgerFest will embrace the theme of "Build A Better Hamburg-er," promising a delightful experience for attendees of all ages. One exciting change for this year's event is that food vendors will now accept cash or credit cards, eliminating the need for food tickets as in previous years. This convenient update will make it easier for visitors to enjoy the wide array of delicious food options available.

Sue Ganey, the BurgerFest chair, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, "All of our food vendors will be offering a hamburger-themed item, and the hamburger theme will carry over to the arts and crafts at KidSpace, too. We have more dance, music, and martial arts groups performing at our Magic on Main Street than ever before."

BurgerFest promises a diverse range of activities and attractions to keep attendees entertained throughout the day. Live bands will provide a lively soundtrack, while a classic car show will showcase vintage automobiles. A trivia game show, dance and martial arts performances, a dedicated children's area, street vendors, and a wine and beer tent will add to the festive atmosphere.

Local celebrities will also take part in judging three food contests, evaluating the Best Burger in the 'Burg, Best Tasting Item, and Most Unique Item. These contests will undoubtedly showcase the culinary creativity and talent of the participating vendors.

In addition to the festivities, BurgerFest will host the 14th annual Character Chase 5K Run/Walk, providing an opportunity for participants to engage in a healthy and active community event.

As the countdown to BurgerFest begins, residents and visitors alike eagerly anticipate a day filled with delicious food, lively entertainment, and a strong sense of community spirit. The event promises to be a memorable celebration of Hamburg's rich burger heritage and a testament to the dedication of the Kiwanis Club of Hamburg in supporting local programs.
