A motorcycle crash in the Town of Stafford has resulted in the loss of a young life. The Genesee County Sheriff's Office announced that 20-year-old Michael Ciarpelli, of Rochester, was killed in an accident on Saturday.

The incident took place around 5:30pm when 911 received a call reporting a personal injury accident on Route 33. After arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Ciarpelli's Yamaha motorcycle had collided head-on with a Ford Edge driven by 76-year-old Luanne Andrews of West Henrietta. Colleen O'Mara, a 67-year-old resident of West Henrietta, was a passenger in the Ford.

According to a preliminary investigation conducted by the sheriff's office, Ciarpelli was traveling westbound on Route 33 and attempted to pass two vehicles ahead of him. Meanwhile, Andrews was making a left turn from Griswold Road and began traveling east on Route 33.

Ciarpelli's attempt to overtake the vehicles resulted in a head-on collision with the Ford in the eastbound lane. Ciarpelli was ejected from his motorcycle and landed violently on the north shoulder of Route 33.

Despite life-saving efforts, Ciarpelli was pronounced dead at the scene. The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is continuing their investigation to determine what led up to this tragic accident.
