19-year-old Arrested in Connection with Hit-and-run that Killed Niagara Falls Man


The investigation of a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on October 15th on Hyde Park Boulevard in Niagara Falls has resulted in an arrest. 19-year-old Patrick J. Washington III of Buffalo, NY, Incas arrested in connection with the tragic event.


An altercation involving multiple individuals took place near 287 Hyde Park Boulevard, resulting in the victim being struck. Niagara Falls Police arrived at the scene around 2:30am and discovered an unresponsive male lying in the street. Medical personnel pronounced him dead shortly thereafter. The vehicle responsible for hitting the victim had already left the scene.


The vehicle was found unoccupied in a nearby alley.



At approximately 7pm on November 13th, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located Washington and took him into custody. He was wanted on an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree murder and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.


The hit-and-run incident claimed the life of 26-year-old Xavier Goder, a resident of Niagara Falls. Goder died from injuries sustained in the accident.



Washington was arraigned today in Niagara County Court where he faces charges relating to the death Goder. Family, friends and loved ones continue to mourn the loss of Goder seeking justice in the wake of this death.
